Mango Hackathon in Berlin 7.10

Published October 5th, 2011

Here we go! Live tweets from Futuhack:

We at Futurice want to be the best Windows Phone developer in Europe. We already have top-skilled mobile and web developers, many already gurus in Windows Phone. But not everyone still have had the opportunity to work with WP. So we want to fix that!

Instead of certificates, we believe in learning by doing with the best. Instead of doing this with a closed Futurice community, we thought that everyone should be join the fun so that we learn from each others!

So we decided to arrange a Mango Hackathon together with our Senior mobile specialist Kalle Aaltonen from our Tampere office. The idea is simply to code cool stuff together and have fun. We will have some pre-defined demo topics and Microsoft is sponsoring the coolest demos with small gifts.

- We’ll be pair programming, so if you don’t have a laptop with dev. environment you are still welcome!
- But as the number of computers is limited, taking your own laptop and installing everything in advance is strongly recommended
- Number of seats is also limited (up to 30), so it’s first-in, first-served principle ;) Of course, if you just want to pop up for a beer and don’t need a desk, that’s not an issue!
- We will provide snacks, beers and mangos for everyone

Welcome!

- Futurice team

ps. we are looking for nice people to join us!

40 high-school teachers visited Futurice

Published April 14th, 2011

Yesterday we had about 40 high school teachers from the Middle Finland area visit us at Futurice. They had a dual agenda: what could they learn from Futurice in improving their own working environment, and second, what does a company like Futurice find valuable in the high school curriculum.
