The goal:

Audible, an Amazon.com subsidiary, wanted to make their audiobook service mobile. No one in the world had done a streaming service using the constrained Java MIDlet mobile platform before. Audible contacted Futurice based on a hint from a previous satisfied customer.

The process:

After a few days of prototyping, Futurice confirmed that the implementation was possible, and the real implementation project began. As this was right on the edge of the technical capabilities of the phones at the time, the Futurice team had to learn the phone peculiarities by heart.

The result:

The effort was awarded by a high quality consumer product, which was pre-installed on the phones of four different handset manufacturers.
