Working to extend the reach of RTL’s digital video content to new mobile platforms.
The goal:
RTL Deutschland has combined interactive and transaction-based businesses outside of traditional ad-financed free TV under the brand of RTL Interactive. The company develops innovative themes, products and platforms that attract consumers as well as advertisers. Time-to-market is critical for RTL, so they wanted Futurice to build a video application for Nokia devices that utilized its ready components, customizing the application for RTL’s specific needs.
The process:
The project was characterized by several challenging factors, such as the need to bring a huge variety of TV video clips to a new mobile platform, and to create a new way of content navigation through a jungle of media contents. Only one month after the project kick-off, Futurice delivered an ad-supported mobile video application for RTL.
The result:
RTL now has a very accessible application that allows German consumers to view and search for their digital content quickly and easily. RTL continues to partner with Futurice in order to achieve an even more engaging cross-platform application portfolio for their mobile users.
