Creative application design
-
It’s easy to be creative; it’s much harder to be creative and to solve the right problems when taking into account business needs, end users needs and desires, technology limitations, timetables and budget.
Our toolbox contains
- Rapid concept development using pair concepting and UI mock-ups
- Usability testing in our test lab – fast and cost efficient
- Extensive prototyping
- Expert reviews
- UI design for a ubiquitous web
- Technology knowledge (XHTML, CSS, Flash, Javascript, AJAX etc.)
- Idealist – a community driven tool to collect end-user feedback for service road mapping
For us, creativity means carving the best possible solution out of the original vision. Even if you only have a faint idea of your vision, together we can take it to the next level.
Our greatest asset is the people we have in our teams. We love to sketch, design, mock-up, user-test and enhance usability. We always do it in close collaboration with the customer by using agile and productive work methods.
Examples of areas where to benefit of our creative process:
- New mobile technology – what to do with it, how to do it?
- Convergence, but how? Mobile/desktop/web?
- What features to implement? Is “Less is more” always true?
- How to mobilize your current products and end users?
- How to create active social communities?
- When to build your own community and when to facilitate an existing one?
- How to advertise in web/mobile by giving the end user something she values?

Case Study: ConnectedDay

Social Media in Day Care
With a vision to improve interaction between adults and their children in daycare, ConnectedDay Ltd was founded in January 2007. ConnectedDay, a social media service for professional daycare centers, introduced a totally new way to share those priceless moments which parents would otherwise have missed.
From idea to service
The service was piloted by Forum Virium Helsinki in four daycare centers during 2006. The pilot service was made possible through the use of our ready-to-use social media service components. Results from the user survey were exceptionally high with an overall score of 6.47 out of 7. Furthermore, all of the piloting daycare centers wanted to continue using the service.
How does it work?
Employees of the daycare centers use their mobile phones to capture photos and videos that are uploaded automatically to ConnectedDay service . The daycare centers are able to manage and comment on the contents before sharing them with different sets of parents and children. Users are also able to discuss the contents of the uploaded photos and videos. The service also provides other tools for better communication at the daycare centers. ConnectedDay provides easy to use mobile photo upload applications for all users, enabling families to share their own images privately.
The service is currently being used by day care centers in Finland, UK, USA and Singapore. For more information, visit www.connectedday.com.
