Interaction Design Association's (IxDA) Interaction16 is held in Helsinki, Finland on March 1-4. As one of the official partners, we'll have a booth at Finlandia Hall and host some related activities at our offce in downtown Helsinki, a hop, skip and a jump from the conference venue.
What ARE we doing at Interaction16?
They take place Tuesday, March 1.
In the morning, we'll be exploring the co-creation of tomorrow's services at the Creating tomorrow's services, together workshop. Jane Vita, Ricardo Brito and Paul Houghton will help participants use tools and methodologies like the IoT Service Kit (see video above), Trend Cards and Lean Service Creation to create scenarios for digital services that mold our future.
The afternoon session concentrates on storytelling and how we can use this most powerful way to form human connections to create better services: Storytelling in Digital Service Design. Maria Lumiaho, Jane Vita and Suvi Numminen will help particiapnts forget about the tools and technologies and focus on emotion and experience.
You'll find us between Spotify and Salesforce. I'm sorely tempted to start reading a deeper meaning into this accidental location, but I think I'll refrain.
At the booth we'll feature the IoT Service Kit. Want to try your hand at creating service scenarios? Visit our booth. Our designers will be on hand to help you use the kit. We'll have a competition set up and some awesome goodies to give away.
Spice is our open source and social impact program. It's been runing for a year and looks more and more like a WIN-WIN situation for all involved. We'll have some info about Spice and the Chilicorn as well as some related exercises (it'll only take a minute...) you can do to help us develop the program in an even more impactful direction at the booth.
We are, of course, recruiting people who kick ass in tech, design and business. Come talk to us about working at Futurice, check out some of the cases we've worked (and work) on.
On Thursday evening Interaction16 participants will have the opportunity to visit the top design studios in Helsinki, including Futurice. Drop by for some food, wine and good conversation. Here's a list you can use to plan your route.
We'll be hosting the amazing finalists of the Student Design Challenge. This is some truly stellar work they're doing. Stellar.
Pro tip: go to the workshops, hit our booth, come by the office for some wine and check out the SDC stuff!
