About the role

Solution Architects at Futurice are generalists working across a variety of industries to help private and public sector clients solve significant business and technology challenges. In this role, you would work with digital services, cloud architecture, software development and improve how digital operations are conducted in large organizations. You will play a significant role in shaping the architecture team and contributing to our company’s thought leadership efforts. Due to the exploratory nature of this role, you will also assist in account management and sales-related activities.

Our specializations include the following areas:

Cloud architecture

• We have solid experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS and Google Cloud and designing for a single Cloud provider or Hybrid Cloud scenarios
• We develop complex scenarios using cloud agnostic stacks

Security architecture

• We facilitate Threat Modeling and Risk Management workshops
• We perform Security Auditing, and recommend code pipeline best practices

AI & Data architecture

• We build Data Lake and Data platform solutions in the Cloud
• We work with Analytics, Visualisations and Business Intelligence systems (e.g. Splunk, Kibana, PowerBI, QlikView, QuickSight, Data Studio, etc)
• We create and train AI/Machine Learning models (e.g. Tensorflow, Pytorch, Apache MXNet)
• We develop Generative AI solutions in the Cloud (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock)

The recipe for success

As a Solution Architect you have a broad understanding of technology, along with a toolset of modern frameworks and methodologies. You have several years of experience in software development and have expanded the scope of problems you tackle, as you also aim to create an impact on organisational issues.

In more detail, we hope you have:

• Broad knowledge of tools, frameworks and technologies related to designing, implementing, deploying and hosting software services.
• A Solid experience in at least one of the following Architecture domains: Cloud, Security and/or Data & AI.
• Experience with Well-Architected frameworks from AWS and Microsoft is a plus
• Associate or Expert level certificates from cloud providers is a plus
• Strong expertise in agile software development and methods (e.g. Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience in designing and implementing modern REST-based APIs, using e.g. Java, C#, Scala, or Node.js.
• A good understanding of both relational databases as well as no-SQL databases.
• Fluency in English is required, fluent Finnish is a plus
• Strong leadership skills in achieving momentum, action and results
• Ability to ask the right questions and drive troubleshooting with experts
• Thought leadership and influencing skills: public speaking, tech articles, etc.
• Willingness to step up in abstraction level to solve organizational issues and drive results in big projects.
• Ability to work in diverse work cultures and comfortable with non-hierarchical organizations.
